Lifestyle newborn photography captures family bonding particularly with the newest addition. As a result there is less handling and manipulation of babies body. Those fresh weeks of motherhood, fatherhood, and siblings adjusting to their new roles will be forever cherished through photos. Capture the interactions with all the members, feeding, snuggling, as well as all the little details in the comfort of your home. Newborn portraiture
Get the best of both worlds by integrating newborn portraits and lifestyle portraits in your newborn photography session. Newborn posed images can be taken in the comfort of your home instead of trekking to a studio. I usually use a bed or any large flat surface for set-up during the posed portion.

Where do newborn sessions take place?

What if my baby doesn’t cooperate and then we need more time?
I have created the newborn session package with the spontaneity of newborn life in mind as a result all newborn sessions start at 80 minutes. However depending on the baby’s demeanor, if additional time is needed, 20 minute increments can be purchased at the time of.
Do you bring props and wraps?
I do bring some props and wraps you are also welcome to incorporate any special mementos you may have. Additionally, I have some small hair accessories for baby girls.
I’m worried I won’t have time to clean up for an in-home session, so what should I do?
If you’re concerned about keeping a tidy home, by all means please don’t! Newborn life is hectic, I have lived the chaos and certainly do not judge. Secondly, I provide tips on how to prepare prior to your session which includes me utilizing angles to both of our advantages. You won’t have to clean up your whole home, and I most definitely don’t expect you to especially after childbirth.
What steps do you take in order to maintain a clean environment for our newborn session?
Specifically with newborns, safety and health is a top concern. I am happy to wear a mask during our session. I always wash my hands upon entering your home and prior to handling the baby. All my wraps, fur, and props are sanitized as well as washed appropriately between every session. Furthermore I am in a non smoking and pet free home and all my things are stored with care.
When should I book my newborn session?
Book as soon as you’re able to! Especially if you have a fall or winter due date. Since pregnancy and childbirth is a bit unpredictable; I suggest picking a date 1 week after your due date. The date can be adjusted afterward based on the baby’s actual arrival date. It is recommended for the session to take place in the first three weeks and ideally prior to 4 weeks.
What should I wear during the session?
Most important is comfort, it translates in photos. I am an advocate of lighter and softer hues for newborn sessions instead of darker tones and blacks. Lastly a style guide is provided for you if you’re interested.
